The most important grape variety of the Jurtschitsch estate is Grüner Veltliner an Austrian speciality that thrives in the Langenlois area. Langenlois is not only home to the delicate and lively GrüVe, but also produces powerful, complex single vineyard wines of world-class such as Steinhaus , Loiserberg , Schenkenbichl , Spiegel and Dechant as well as the great Alte Reben from some of our oldest vines. Due to their geological and microclimatic diversity these vineyards produce wines of very different styles and characters. The Riesling vines feel at home in the meager rocky terroir of the elevated Loiserberg vineyard and on the terraces of the famous Zöbinger Heiligenstein. The wines from these sites are distinguished by their intense minerality and their excellent ageability.
Finest premium wines of Chardonnay (Ladner vineyard), Weißburgunder (Loiserberg vineyard) and Sauvignon Blanc (Fahnberg vineyard) are meticulously groomed from carefully selected grapes. We are especially proud of our red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which are bottled as varietals or as cuvées such as our renowned Rotspon. Some of these wines are aged in small wooden barrels. Our red wines obtain high ratings year after year. Outstanding sweet wines such as Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese, Strohwein oder Eiswein complete our range of estate wines.
