The wine
This blend of Zweigelt (90%) and Blaufränkisch (10%) displays hints of blackberries and sour cherries in its flavour, a subtle balance and delicately harsh and spicy fruit-flavours impress the palate. Due to its supple tannins as well as its pleasant odour, this wine is the ideal red wine for many occasions.

The wine-making
The fully ripe grapes were hand-picked at the beginning of October. Then they were carefully destemmed and fermented for 6 to 8 days at 25 to 28° Celsius in special stainless steel tanks. The free-run wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. Thereafter it rests in steel tanks and large wooden barrels at a constant temperature of 11° Celsius in our 700 year-old natural cellar. In the beginning of April of the year following the harvest this cuvée is put in bottle, where it matures for several months.

Ageing potential: 2010

food accompany: A very good match with red meat, game and game birds.
