Pinot Noir Reserve 2006
The Wine
Mainly harvested form the site Ladner and from the neighhbouring site Schenkenbichl the grapes make a Pinot rich in finesse, elegant and spicy. It is characterised by the fine and cool Kamptal stylistics a noble wine.
Alcohol by vol: 13,0% Vol., acidity: 4,5‰, residual sugar: 1,0g/l
The soil: Langenlois primary rock (Gföhl gneiss) and layers of loess
The wine-making
The fully ripe grapes were selectively hand-picked by the end of October and brought to the press house in small crates. To receive an optimum of fruit, color and extract the must was poured over the compact parts of the mash during the alcoholic fermentation once a day. After 15 days of fermentation the wine was maturing in 500-liter oak barrels for 18 months. Before it was finally bottled in June 2008 an assemblage was done in the large oak barrrels.
