GrüVe 2009

The wine
The lightest of the Gruener Veltliners is really impressive with its fresh bouquet, vivid fine fruity and spicy tones, it is delicate and sparkling with a lively acidic background. For some 22 years now, the unmistakeable style of the well known Austrian painter, Christian Ludwig Attersee has adorned the label of this Classic Veltliner. For his work on the Vintage 2008, the Artist has selected the "GrueVe" Wine from the Jurtschitsch Sonnhof Family.

alcohol by vol: 11,5%, acidity: 6,2 ‰, residual sugar: 2,0 g/l

The soil: Langenlois loess, primary rock deposit soil

The wine-making
The grapes were harvested at the beginning of October and carefully picked by hand, and pressed at extremely low pressure. The defecated juice flows naturally down from the 4 storey pressing house without the use of pumps, into the underground cellar below, and slowly fermented in cooled stainless steel tanks at around 18 °C. This has the effect of primarily promoting the delicate fragrance and aroma substances. The freshness and the fruitiness of the Classic Veltliner underscored by development in the stainless steel cuvée.

Ageing potential: 2011, tastes best "young and light, fresh and dry"!

food accompany:
The GrueVe Wine is irresistible as aperitif. Of course, the Wine is a real all-rounder for classical Austrian cuisine: from snacks to starters, passing on to grilled fish, light meats, and right through to the joys of "ethno-cuisine".
