Weißburgunder Kamptal-Terrassen 2009
The wine
A wine of youthful, pale yellow color, with nutty aromas typical of this grape variety as well as discreet but ripe flavors of fruit and spice accompanied by well-knit acid structure: A convincing varietal stimulating with a long finish.
alcohol by vol: 12,5%, acidity 6,5‰, residual sugar 2,7 g/l
The soil: eroded primary rock soils covered by a thin layer of humus
The wine-making
The fully ripe grapes were selectively harvested by hand into stackable crates in several passages during the middle of October. The crates were then immediately transported to the press house on fully suspended trailers where the whole clusters were pressed at very low pressure. The juice was fermented at approximately 18° Celsius in cooled stainless steel tanks in which the young wines subsequently rest. The wine was bottled in February of the year after harvest.
Ageing potential: 2015
food accompany: An ideal asparagus-wine! This wine is very versatile, an excellent match for many different dishes such as veal and pork entrées or flavorful fish plates.
